Thank you for your interest in participating in this study. Currently there is limited scientific data to show what benefits, if any, are derived from climbing. It is the goal of this study to demonstrate measurable effects in the areas of self-efficacy, resiliency and mindfulness that may be related to one's climbing. It is our hope that by building on existing data mental health professionals will be better informed as they consider rock climbing as a therapeutic intervention to help those suffering with mental illness.

The average time spent to complete this survey is roughly 10-15 minutes. Any personally identifiable information gathered will be kept strictly confidential and not shared. If you are enrolled in an introductory climbing course you will be e-mailed a follow up survey in 6 weeks. Please give the most honest and spontaneous answer to each of the following questions. There is no right or wrong response! Thank you for your time and effort.
