Membership Criteria:

CU Cancer Center Membership is available to faculty who perform basic, clinical, translational or population-based cancer-focused research. If you do not meet the criteria below but want to be added to the CU Cancer Center Community and receive communications from us, please indicate below.

Member applications are reviewed by the Cancer Center's Governance Committee³.

Membership Levels:
Affiliate Member:
• PI of non-peer reviewed² cancer-focused sponsored research within the last 3 years; OR
• Author on at least 2 peer-reviewed papers with significant cancer focus published within the last 5 years; OR
• Emerging interest in cancer and conducting research with a Cancer Center Member.

Clinical Member:
• Local PI of a cancer-related clinical trial within the last 3 years; OR
• A significant contributor to Cancer Clinical Trials within the last 5 years that accrue patients to CU Cancer Center trials including but not limited to: CU, UCH, CHCO and the VA.

Mentored Member¹:
• Is within the first 5 years of the first faculty appointment at the level of Assistant Professor (regardless of track) AND
• Has established, or is on the trajectory³ of establishing, an independent program in cancer research (lab, clinical or population science based); AND
• Author on at least 2 peer-reviewed papers with significant cancer focus published within the last 5 years; AND
• On the trajectory³ of becoming becoming PI of peer or non-peer reviewed² cancer-focused research

Full Member:
• PI of an independent cancer-focused research program (lab, clinical or population science); AND
• PI of an active R01-equivalent peer-reviewed cancer research grant as defined by NCI², OR National PI of a cancer clinical trial; AND
• Author on at least 3 peer-reviewed papers published within the past 3 years that are significantly cancer related; OR
• Hold a significant leadership role in the CU Cancer Center
